Automation Rules

What are automation rules?

Automation rules are if/then triggers that monitor your program's data and take action when conditions are met. Instead of manually checking dashboards and reacting, you define the logic once and Trcker handles the rest.

Available triggers

A trigger is the condition that starts the rule. Trcker currently supports:

  • Conversion count threshold — Fires when a partner reaches a specific number of conversions within a time window (e.g., 100 conversions in 24 hours)
  • CVR threshold — Fires when a partner's conversion rate drops below or rises above a percentage you set
  • Cap percentage — Fires when an offer reaches a percentage of its conversion cap (e.g., 90% of daily cap)

Available actions

An action is what happens when the trigger fires:

  • Pause partner — Automatically pauses a partner's tracking links so no further clicks are tracked
  • Send alert — Sends an email or in-app notification to you or your team
  • Auto-approve conversion — Automatically moves a conversion from pending to approved

You can combine multiple actions on a single rule. For example, send an alert and pause the partner at the same time.

Creating a rule

Step 1: Go to the Automation page from the main navigation.

Step 2: Click New Rule.

Step 3: Give the rule a name that describes what it does (e.g., "Pause partner if CVR drops below 1%").

Step 4: Choose a trigger and configure its parameters. For a CVR threshold, you would set the percentage and the time window.

Step 5: Choose one or more actions. For a pause action, select which partners or partner groups the rule applies to.

Step 6: Set the scope — does this rule apply to a specific offer, a specific partner, or globally across your program?

Step 7: Click Save & Activate. The rule starts monitoring immediately.

Example rules

Here are common rules to get you started:

  • Fraud guard — If a partner's CVR drops below 0.5% over 24 hours, pause the partner and send an alert. Low CVR often indicates bot traffic.
  • Cap warning — If an offer reaches 90% of its daily conversion cap, send an alert so you can decide whether to increase the cap or let it close.
  • Auto-approve trusted partners — If a conversion comes from a partner in your "Trusted" group, auto-approve it immediately instead of holding it for manual review.
  • Volume spike alert — If a partner exceeds 500 conversions in 1 hour, send an alert. Sudden spikes can indicate either a viral moment or suspicious activity.

Managing rules

  • Pause a rule temporarily without deleting it — useful during promotional periods when normal thresholds do not apply
  • View history to see every time the rule fired and what action was taken
  • Edit a rule's trigger or action at any time; changes take effect immediately
