"How Trcker Detects Affiliate Fraud Before It Costs You Money"

"Learn how Trcker Radar uses threat intelligence, velocity checks, IP scoring, and a configurable rules engine to catch affiliate fraud in real time."

Affiliate fraud costs advertisers billions every year. Click farms, cookie stuffing, bot traffic, and fake conversions drain budgets while making your data unreliable. Most affiliate platforms bolt on basic fraud filters as an afterthought — or charge extra for them.

Trcker takes a different approach. Fraud detection is built into the core tracking pipeline, not layered on top. Every click that flows through Trcker gets scored, analyzed, and — if it fails your rules — blocked before it ever reaches your conversion pixel.

Here's how it works.

The Problem With Basic Fraud Filters

Most platforms offer a handful of static rules: block known bot user agents, filter IPs from a blocklist, maybe flag suspiciously high click volumes. These catch the obvious stuff, but modern affiliate fraud is more sophisticated.

Fraudsters rotate IPs, spoof user agents, and drip traffic slowly enough to stay under velocity thresholds. A static blocklist updated once a month won't catch a click farm that spun up yesterday.

How Trcker Radar Works

Trcker Radar is our fraud intelligence system. It operates in four layers:

1. Threat Intelligence

Radar aggregates data from multiple threat feeds — known proxy networks, datacenter IP ranges, bot signatures, and flagged device fingerprints. These feeds update continuously, not monthly. When a new click farm lights up, Radar knows about it within hours.

2. Velocity and Pattern Detection

Every click is analyzed for behavioral signals:

  • Click velocity — How many clicks from this IP, device, or sub-ID in a given window?
  • Session patterns — Is this a real browsing session or a scripted sequence?
  • Geographic anomalies — Does the click's IP match its timezone and language headers?
  • Conversion timing — How quickly did the conversion fire after the click? Sub-second conversions are almost always fake.

3. Configurable Rules Engine

You define what counts as fraud for your program. Maybe 50 clicks per hour from one IP is fine for a viral campaign but suspicious for a B2B SaaS offer. Radar lets you set thresholds per partner, per campaign, or globally — and choose whether to flag, throttle, or block.

4. Dashboard and Alerts

Radar doesn't just block bad traffic silently. You get a real-time dashboard showing:

  • Fraud scores by partner
  • Blocked click volume over time
  • Which rules triggered and why
  • Exportable evidence for partner conversations

When a threshold is breached, you get an alert — not a surprise on your monthly invoice.

What Makes This Different

Most competitors either charge extra for fraud tools or give you a black box that blocks traffic without explanation. Trcker Radar is:

  • Included on every plan — No add-on fees
  • Transparent — You see exactly why traffic was flagged
  • Configurable — Your rules, your thresholds, your enforcement actions
  • Real-time — Scoring happens on the click, not in a batch job hours later

Getting Started

Radar is enabled by default on all Trcker accounts. You can customize your rules from the Radar dashboard, or start with our recommended defaults and tune from there.

If you're currently running an affiliate program without real-time fraud detection, you're probably losing money to bad traffic right now. Request early access and see what Radar finds in your first week.
